July 27, 2013 Snowmass King Leonidus is now a part of Sugar Hollow Farm! We have purchased this remarkable champion herdsire to move our breeding program to the elite level. His bloodlines consist of a veritable “Who’s Who” in alpaca industry genetics. They include Caligula, Legacy, Bueno, Hemingway, Augusto, and Don Julio, as well as the Snowmass “Bell” line. If you have a female with Snowmass Quechua bloodlines, call for special pricing. This is a match specifically recommended by Snowmass Alpacas.

May 22, 2013 Sugar Hollow Farm was recently blessed with it’s first cria of 2013. We’ve had a great run of 5 out of 6 females born since we started our venture a few years ago and have added one more excellent mother to our herd of proven females! Dam Tempest needed no help in birthing her first cria as delivery went as easily as it ever could. Like the other proven females on our farm she bonded quickly and has been most attentive to her offspring allowing her to nurse almost immediately. If you’re looking for proven females who can deliver check out our website’s “Our Alpacas” page. Several are priced to sell as we need to keep our herd small to keep boarding fees reasonable. Sugar Hollow Farm’s BGF Poseidon Isaac’s Matoskah earned three ribbons in his first 3 halter competitions – each one better than the last! He began with a 4th place at the VAOBA Expo in Richmond, VA, and then earned a 3rd place ribbon at the Carolina Alpaca Celebration. He finished with a strong 2nd place at the Southern Select Alpaca Show in Tennessee. There, the judge commented on his “extreme brilliance and brightness”, “luxurious hand and fineness”, and stated that “this fleece is what we should be breeding for!” In all 3 competitions the judges commented on his excellent conformation, fineness, and overall presentation. We’ve already had requests to purchase his fleece from spinners who saw the picture below when we tweeted it out. Sorry friends! We’ll be entering it in Fleece Competitions later this year and then Kathy wants to spin it herself! We can’t wait to start breeding him! |
